Using customizable settings, the SmartXide Tetra® allows us to tailor each treatment to your skin concerns and goals. Treatments can range from lighter CoolPeel resurfacing with minimal downtime to more aggressive fully ablative CO2 resurfacing for advanced correction and collagen remodeling.

The CoolPeel Difference

  • Traditional fully ablative CO2 laser resurfacing can deliver dramatic skin rejuvenation results but is typically associated with significant downtime and prolonged redness. CoolPeel offers many of the same skin resurfacing and collagen-stimulating benefits in a gentler treatment with less downtime and a lower risk of prolonged redness or pigmentation concerns.

  • One of the biggest benefits of CoolPeel is the minimal social downtime. Most patients experience redness and warmth similar to a sunburn for about 1–3 days following treatment. As the skin heals, dryness, rough texture, and light flaking are common for several days afterward. Keeping the skin hydrated and protected with SPF is essential during the healing process.

  • CoolPeel® treatments are quick and very tolerable for most patients. Topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to maximize comfort. During the procedure, patients typically feel heat and a prickling sensation, followed by warmth similar to a sunburn for several hours afterward.

  • The CoolPeel® treatment itself is relatively quick, with a full-face treatment typically taking about 10–15 minutes. The longest part of the appointment is usually the topical numbing beforehand, which takes approximately 30 minutes.

  • The number of treatments recommended depends on your skin concerns, goals, and starting point. Many patients achieve best results with a series of 3 treatments spaced several weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments yearly or as needed to maintain results.

  • CoolPeel is commonly combined with treatments such as SkinPen Microneedling or Morpheus8 to target multiple layers of the skin and enhance overall skin rejuvenation results. Combination treatments can improve collagen production, texture, tone, and skin tightening more comprehensively than a single treatment alone.
